Eating a Raisin

BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona

Jaron Rowan

After doing 3 minutes of breathing/body work we get the students to sit down and in silence eat a raisin. The prompt is to do it slowly and pay attention to every detail. After 5 minutes they have to write down the eating experience.

By focusing on a very small experience they become aware of the complexity of experience and how rich and detailed it can be. How writing is not a conceptual task but based on sensorial awareness.
