Three Steps Process

Albert Fuster

ELISAVA Barcelona School

A three steps process helps students to transition from the analysis stage to th  design phase of their final degree project in the fourth year of their studies. The first step is the writing of a personal statement of who they are a designer, their values and beliefs. The second step is about recognizing and defining the socio-cultural context their project is situated in. The third step is for students to define the design actions that could have the potential to promote change.

The three-step process helps students to establish a direct and inner connection between ethical and social concerns and it helps them to understand the potential context that their project will interact with. The process helps students to conceive design actions that may will have impact within the contextual understanding of he project.
